Simons reinterprets familiar Fred Perry silhouettes with the sensibilities of his eponymous line and inspired by the underground communities of London’s nightlife in the ‘80s. For this collection, Simons selects photographs from Brian Flynn, an ardent gig-goer at that time, who documented countless nights at our beloved basement venue, The 100 Club. Taken on a pocket-sized Kodak Ektralight camera, the chosen photographs document one particular night – starting off with their journey on the Northern Line, and ending up watching a punk band on the legendary 100 Club stage. Along with a chequerboard design, an image from this personal collection is printed onto frayed patches and stitched to the shoulders. The DIY spirit lives on.
